What is NEET?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held yearly to help students secure admission to the top medical institutions in India. All major medical colleges offer students admission on the basis of their NEET scores, excluding AIIMS and JIPMER
There are 60000+ medical seats in private, central and state-funded institutions under NEET.
How to apply for NEET
Eligibility Criteria for NEET
Age
The minimum age limit for all candidates is 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
The maximum age limit for NEET is 25 years for general candidates and 30 years for reserved candidates.
Subjects
You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, any other elective subject with English.
Year of passing 12th standard or equivalent exam
You must have passed Class 12th or any equivalent qualifying examination in the years 2016, 2017 or 2018 (provided the results are declared before 15th June 2018).
Score in 12th standard or equivalent exam
As a general category candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 50% in your 10+2 or equivalent examination.
As an OBC, SC or ST candidate, you require a minimum aggregate score of 40%.
Aadhar Card requirement
You need a registered Aadhaar Card Number to be eligible to apply for JEE Main.
Number of attempts
You can attempt the exam as many times as you want till the age of 25.
Registration for NEET
The NEET application form needs to be filled online
You will have to choose a password for your login ID and pay the application fee
Step 1: Filling the application form.
- Click on ‘Apply Online’ and proceed.
- Keep the following details ready like date of birth, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email address and security pin.
- Keep your domicile, educational and guardian details ready.
- Choose the language in which you want to appear for your exam.
- Select 3 choices for your exam centre.
Step 2: Choose and upload

- Select 3 choices for your exam centre.
- Note down your registration number and click on ‘Submit’.
- Upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature.
Step 3: Payment of application fee
- Select your bank and enter your details.
- You can pay using debit or credit card, netbanking, CSC e-wallet.
Step 4: Confirmation page
- This page will mention all the details you have filled out in the application form.
- Keep a copy of this page saved at all times.
- Note: You can make corrections in the NEET 2019 Application Form by logging into your account between 7th and 12th March, 2019.
